Feature
Templates that look like books, not Canva slides.
Start from a tested layout. Swap the AI imagery, swap the title, ship a cover. The templates are starting points — the canvas does the rest.
BookCovers ships hundreds of book cover templates organized by genre and trim size. Each template is a real composition — not a frame with three dropdowns. Open one in the canvas editor and every layer (typography, art, badges, blurb position) is editable. Templates are free on every plan.
Genre-organized template library.
Browse romance, fantasy, thriller, sci-fi, non-fiction, mystery, horror, children's, YA, business, memoir, cookbook. Each genre has front-list templates plus series-style sets. Filter by trim size and pick the closest match.
Real layouts, not placeholders.
Every template has been composed with attention to typography, hierarchy, and reader expectations for that genre. Swap the AI imagery and the layout still holds. No "insert your photo here" boxes that look bare without a perfect image.
Series-style sets.
Pick a series template and you get books 1, 2, 3 styled with a shared visual language — same fonts, same palette, same composition rules. Lock the style and add new books as your series grows.
Templates + AI imagery.
Templates aren't a replacement for AI generation — they're the starting frame. Open a romance template, click Generate, and the AI fills in genre-appropriate imagery while keeping the layout. Best of both.
Print-ready by default.
Every template is built at 300 DPI with proper bleed and trim marks for KDP and IngramSpark. Export the PDF and it lands print-ready. No reformatting.

Frequently asked questions
Are templates free?
Yes. Templates are free on every plan including Free. The watermark on Free comes from the export, not the template.
Can I save my own template?
Yes (Pro). Lock your style as a series template and apply it to future books. Useful for authors with a recognizable brand.
Are templates exclusive?
Templates are reusable starting points. The marketplace is for exclusive premade covers — once sold, they're removed from the catalog.
Can I use a Canva template here?
Export your Canva file as PDF and upload it to BookCovers. The editor will let you edit layers; the AI can generate replacement imagery in genre-correct style.
